Saudi Arabia to establish King Salman Complex for Prophet's Hadith in Madina

Saudi Arabia on Tuesday announced to establish "King Salman Complex for Prophet's Hadith" in Madina - the city of the Prophet (peace be upon him) which already hosts a giant King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex.

The Holy Quran and Hadith - the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), are the two main sources of Islamic legislation. The other two after these two are Ijma and Qeyas.

Underlining the importance of Hadith, the King in aroyal decree issued on Tuesday ordered "the establishment of a complex called - the compound of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud for the Prophet's Hadith which will be based in Medina."

The royal decre further said, "The complex will have a scientific council that includes the elite of the scholars of Hadith in the world. Its president and members will be appointed by a royal decree."

"Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hassan Al-Sheikh, a member of the Senior Scholars Council, is appointed Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Comlex", the royal order said, according to SPA.

King Salman had in March 2017 ordered to establish Qur'an Oasis - a world-class, integrated cultural and knowledge hub on 50 acres of land in Madinah - City of The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

City of The Prophet (Peace be upon him) Madinah already has King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex. The company produces about 10 million copies a year. It has 1,700 employees. It has published 55 different translations of the Qur'an in 39 languages.

The website of the Quran Complex offers the Arabic Qur'an, recitations, textual search, translations, images of early Qur'an manuscripts. It also has a Digital Quran Research Centre.
