WBJEE 2019 Postponed, New Date To Be Announced Soon

Kolkata: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) Board officials on Wednesday said the imporant entrance test would not be held on May 19, 2019 as announced earlier. Announcement of a new date is likely soon, though it is expected that WBJEE 2019 will be held on May 26.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) Board has delayed WBJEE 2019 because of objections raised by students and their parents. Teachers were also apprehensive that earlier WBJEE 2019 date was not suitable as it clashed with other exams.

Students planning to appear for WBJEE 2019 should however bookmark December 26, 2018 in their calendar as the day when WBJEE 2019 registration process will start, and the board will start receiving online the WBJEE 2019 Applications.

The last date to apply for WBJEE 2018 is January 22, 2019, the norification said. Last date of to download confirmation page is January 26. Registered candidates will be able to make correction if any from January 28 to January 31. The application fees for WBJEE-2019 is Rs 500 plus the bank’s service charges as applicable.

Eligibility

For admission to various Engineering courses, candidates must have qualified Intermediate or 10+2 exam pattern with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application in regular class mode.

To appear for WBJEE 2019, students should score at least 45% marks in the above subjects. As per rules, 05% relaxation has been given to students from the reserved category.

For Pharmacy courses, candidates must be Intermediate or Class 12 pass with Physics and Chemistry along with any one of Mathematics/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application as compulsory subjects in regular class mode.

Age limit

Candidates must at least be 17 years as on December 31, 2019. There is no upper limit. However, for Marine Engineering course, even though minimum age will be the same, the maximum age is 25 as on December 12 next year.
Admit Card and WBJEE 2019 Results

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) Board will released the Admit Card / Hall Tickets of the registered candidates in May first week tentatively.

The WBJEE 2019 results will be declared on June 25 (tentatively).

WBJEE is a common entrance examination conducted for taking admission to undergraduate programmes in Medical, Dental, Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in universities, government colleges and self-financed institutes.
