New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday said it has taken cognizance of paper leaks of certain exams and hence has decided to re-conduct the Class 12 Economics (Code 030) and Class 10 Mathematics (Code 041).
“The Board has taken cognizance of certain happenings in the conduct of certain examinations as are being reported. With the view to upholding the sanctity of the Board examinations and in the interest of the fairness to the students, the Board has decided to re-conduct the examinations of Class 12 Economics and Class 10 Mathematics,” a CBSE statement said.
The CBSE however has not announced any date of the re-examination.
“Dates for fresh examinations and other details shall be hosted on the CBSE website within a week”, the CBSE notification said.
The CBSE notification dated March 28, 2018 regarding the re-exam of Class 12 Economics and Class 10 Mathematics is signed by Controller Examination has been uploaded on the CBSE website.
The 2018 Class 12 and Class 10 board exams started on March 05. The CBSE Class XII exam is still underway and will end on April 12, 2018 with HOME SCIENCE as the last paper. The CBSE Class 10 Mathematics paper was held on Wednesday whereas the Class 12 Economics paper was held on March 26.
The CBSE 2018 Class 10 and Class 12 exams have been marred by reports of paper leaks. Earlier, there were also reports that CBSE Class 12 Accountancy paper was leaked and circulated on social media. The leak was confirmed by Manish Sisodia, Delhi Deputy CM and Education Minister. The CBSE however rejected all reports claiming the leak.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was founded on November 3, 1962. It's headquartered at Preet Vihar, New Delhi. CBSE regulates and supervises the development of education in the country. The primary function of the CBSE includes preparing academic programmes and organising examinations, especially for Class 10 and Class 12 students. CBSE was established in 1962. The CBSE affiliates all Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, private schools and most of the schools approved by central government of India.
