Ayodhya: The families of kar sevaks killed during the Babri Mosque demolition in Ayodhya, today slammed the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani for deserting them.

Ayodhya was the epicenter of a movement, where the Ram temple was to be built at the site of Babri Mosque.

The families of the kar sevaks criticised the leaders and the organistation for not living up to their promises.

“I lost my husband (in the Ayodhya movement) I am facing lots of problems. This small shop is not enough to earn my livelihood. Sangh had promised of giving job to one of my children and a house. Forget about those promises. Now, they do not come to visit us,” said wife of Vasudev Gupta, a deceased kar sevak.

Expressing similar sentiments, a father of a kar sevak said BJP leader Advani even refused to meet them.

“I and wife went to meet Advaniji and told him that my son was martyred in the Ayodhya movement. I reminded him to fulfill the promise, of giving job to one of my children and a house, he made to us. Advani said we would help your family. Till date he has done nothing. We went to his residence gave an application (listing such demands) and sent a message across but he did not come to meet us,” said father of Rajendra, the dead kar sevak.
