Bhopal:
"Urdu is a language of civilization which nurtures politeness,
courteousness, good-mannerism while socializing in a society to
develop a rich culture ".
The above
views were expressed by Raghuveer Shrivastava, Commissioner of
Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department, while speaking
as chief guest at the valedictory function of the 10-day Urdu
teachers Orientation Course / training workshop here at the Mulla
Ramuzi Sanskriti Bhawan.
The
Orientation Course was jointly organized by Madhya Pradesh Urdu
Academy, (MPUA), and Urdu Teaching and Research Centre, (Central
Institute of Indian Languages), under the Ministry of Human
Resources Development, Government of India, Solan (Himachal
Pradesh).
Shrivastava
said efforts are being made so that science and modern subjects are
also taught through Urdu language. He said in India a language
changes every six miles and there are thousands of languages in the
world. A language is not the property of any religion or community
but belongs to the whole society and nation. A language and a river
remains alive when it moves forward with the passage of time. A
language thrives and keeps kicking to broaden its base when it
assimilates in itself words from other languages, he remarked.
He assured
to do the needful to hold such workshops in every district of Madhya
Pradesh. He also assured to strive and get the budget of Madhya
Pradesh Urdu Academy enhanced so that it can do more for the
development of Urdu language.
Prof. Qazi
Obaidurahman Hashmi of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, who was
special guest on the occasion, hoped that the knowledge acquired in
the 10-day orientation course the teachers would make full use of it
while lecturing their students.
He lamented
that the status of teachers in the present time has nose dived due
to their lack of dedication to the profession. The teachers should
not take their profession just as their duty but they should
inculcate the spirit of "Ibadat" while teaching. This would give
them inner joy and job satisfaction, he remarked.
Dr. Z. R.
Siddiqui, Associate Professor at Urdu Teaching and Research Centre (Solan),
who was the coordinator of the Orientation Course, informed there
was overwhelming response to the course. He said originally 35 Urdu
teachers were invited to attend the course but in all 51 took part
in it. He said all the participants are being provided certificates
of participation.
Two
participant Urdu teachers namely Ms Uzma Danish and Ms Safia Sultan
shared their experiences of the 10-day course on the occasion.
At the
outset Mrs. Nusrat Mehdi, who is also a poet, welcomed the guests
Iqbal Masood, joint secretary MPUA, conducted the inaugural
function.

Raghuveer Shrivastava and others presented certificates to the
participants.
