Muslims Are The Rightful Owners Of Wakf Properties

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Minorities Welfare Minister Ajay Vishnoi today informed the Assembly that alleged irregularities in the Wakf Board would be investigated in two months and action taken against those responsible.

Raising the issue through a calling attention notice, ex-minister Arif Aqueel (Congress) said, ''the Board is a den of irregularities. An attempt was made to mislead the House.''

Earlier, Arif Aqueel said that a letter signed by some Board members was submitted to the Board Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The missive stated that the Board's policy decisions should be taken after discussion in the Board's regular meetings.

''Despite that, the Chairman and CEO are bypassing rules and taking policy decisions. No meeting was conducted after May 31 and that itself is a violation. Besides, the Board employees who obtained a High Court stay on their expulsion are being insulted by not being assigned work as per their stature,'' the Member said.

Arif Aqueel fired a volley of supplementary posers.

This is not the first time that irregularities in the wakf land are coming to the fore in India. In fact, the irregularities in wakf land are so rampant almost everywhere in the country that analysts termed them as the biggest land scam in Indian histroy.

At the same time, it is also said that if proper utlilization of the wakf land and properties are planned it would serve to the Indian Muslims to a very great extent.
