Hyderabad:
The twin blasts in the city which took place on August 25 2007 at
Lumbini Park and Gokul chaat Bhandar has completed two years but
unfortunately, the real culprits in this regard are still roaming
free and the Muslim youths, for no fault of their, are still being
harassed in the name of the investigations.
"Muslim youths are still subject to
the harassment"
43 persons had died in the blasts
whereas the number of injured was given as 70. Though Hyderabad city
police had indicted innocent Muslim youths and false cases were made
against them.
However, when the charges against the
Muslim youths proved wrong, all the arrested Muslim youths were
released. In the meantime, Mumbai police informed about the arrest
of the bomb blasts culprits in Mumbai and disclosed the hand of
Indian Mujahideen in the blasts.
Shortly after this, the special
investigation team (Sit) of the city police, after the initial
investigations, handed over the case to Octopus. The officials of
Octopus arranged to get the release of the vital accused Akbar
Ismail Chowdhry, Atique Shafiq Syed, Md. Asrar Sadiq Sheikh and
Ansar Ahmed Basha from Mumbai’s jail and shifted them to Hyderabad
to present them in the Octopus court.
The court had taken the four culprits
of Indian Mujahideen in its custody and after the investigations, it
was also disclosed that the culprits had actually avenged the bomb
blasts occurred in city’s Makkah Masjid on May 18, 2007. During the
interrogation, the accused said that Hindu fanatics had planted the
bomb in Makkah Masjid.
They also said that the founder of
Indian Mujahideen, Riyaz Bhatkal and his master Amer Raza had
jointly committed the heinous crime of blasts. Octopus has filed its
charge sheet for three trials related to twin bomb blasts in the
month of March this year whereas the hearing of this case is still
