Mumbai: The Wakf properties are meant exclusively for Muslims only. Muslims only have the legal right over them. After the publication of the report of Central Parliamentary Committee now it is the responsibility of the government to remove illegal encroachments from the Wakf properties. These demands were made by Senior MLA in the Maharashtra Assembly Basheer Moosa Patel Qasmi. He was replying to the leader of the opposition Ram Das Kadam. It is to be noted that Ram Das Kadam during his speech had demanded for a CBI enquiry in the whole matter of the illegal encroachment of the Wakf properties.

When Mr. Basheer Moosa Patel Qasmi rose up to answer Ramdas Kadam the Speaker of the House tried to stop him from speaking. However, Mr. Basheer Moosa continued saying, “It is related to my Community and I must speak up. The rights of the Muslims are being denied and I will not sit quite”. He put forth the demand to the government “to take every possible step to return these properties to the Muslims as they are the rightful owners of them”.

Leader of the Opposition Ram Das Kadam also alleged senior leaders of the Congress are involved in encroaching the Wakf properties He also asked for a legal action against the culprits in this whole affair including the then Chief Minister. The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) headed by the Deputy Speaker of Rajya Sabha K. Rahman Khan had reported that the Wakf Board of Maharashtra has sold off huge lands. Mr. Ram Das Kadam wanted severe action against the Chairman of Maharashtra Wakf Board. The Speaker of the House ordered to note this matter.

Meanwhile, in New Delhi, Maulana Nawabuddin Naqshabandi has welcomed the 14 March udgment of the Delhi High Court. He said, “This order is applicable to all of the Muslim graveyards on the Wakf land. Maulana Naqshbandi asked the Wakf Board to acquire the Graveyard at Meer Dard Road and erect boundary land on the free land and install the Wakf Board so that these can be protected from land Mafia. As regards the Khasra Number 142 he said, “The plot along the Guradwara is lying vacant and some anti-social elements are trying to encroach this”.

“In the year 2008 most of the land at the Takia Kale Khan was lying vacant. At that point time of Shahi Imam Maulana Syed Abdullah Bukhari rushed there and saved the Muslim population from uprooting. At that time also the Wkaf Board did not install its boards. Consequently, the land Mafia encroached the Wakf land” groaned Maulana Nawabuddin Naqshabndi. He further proposed that to generate income from this land the Wakf Board may start collecting monthly rents from the residents of this land.

Sare Jahan Se Accha

Hindustan Hamara

In 1905 more than 100 years from today, when Iqbal was a lecturer at the Government College, Lahore he was invited by his student Lala Hardayal to preside over a function. Instead of making a speech, Iqbal sang Sare Jahan Se Accha Hindustan Hamara in his style. Iqbal compiled this poem in praise of India and the poem preaches the communal harmony that had unfortunately started ceasing in India by that time. Each and every word in this poem depicts an Indian’s respect and love for the motherland and the values the Indian society inherited for long...Read Full
