Declaring the Rs. 4650 crores target for financial year 2010-11, Dube said it is a challenging task in the present global economic scenario, but with a dedicated and committed team of about 7650 employees, we can do wonders. He highly appreciated the role played by Trade Unions, Supervisors Association and Officers’ Association and called BHEL, Bhopal’s work culture a unique one. He made presentations on the expansion and technological up-gradation schemes of the Unit.

He said that capital investment of the Unit increased to Rs. 166 crores against Rs. 118 crores during the previous year and increase in filing patents has shown a record growth over previous year.

Replying to a question, he said that the quality of products made in India was much superior to that of China and this fact has been demonstrated many times all over the world. As such BHEL faced no threat from its Chinese counterparts, he added.
