New Delhi: A city court Saturday allowed Delhi Police 30 days' time to finish their investigation and file a chargesheet against two suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists for their alleged roles in serial blasts in 2008.
Additional Sessions Judge Santosh Snehi Mann ordered the Special Cell of the police to file the chargesheets by May 15 against Mohammed Shahjad and Salman Ahmad, arrested in February and March respectively this year.
Rajiv Mohan, public prosecutor said that since the matter with regard to Salman's age is pending and the statements of doctors and his school principal are yet to be recorded, police is yet to start arguments on framing of charges against the accused.
He said the police had completed its investigation against Shahjad and were awaiting sanction for his prosecution.
Also, the court had ordered the Superintendent of Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad to send a copy of the apex court order allowing two accused in the same case, Mohd Shakeel and Zia-ur Rehman, to appear for their examinations at Jamia Millia Islamia.
The proceedings are being conducted through video conferencing as nine accused are at present in Sabarmati Jail for their alleged roles in serial blasts in Ahmedabad.
Out of the 14 arrested, Hakim, Shahzad and Salman are in Tihar jail here.
