Jamia Millia launchess 13 courses through distance learning

New Delhi: The Centre for Distance & Open Learning (CDOL) of Jamia Millia Islamia is offering 13 undergraduate and postgraduate courses through open learning system. This will fulfill an important need of providing education to those who are unable to enroll in regular programmes at universities and wish to enhance their career prospects by enrolling for courses through distance mode.
CDOL offers the following programmes:
1. MA – English / Hindi / Sociology / History
2. Post Graduation Diploma in Geoinformatics
3. Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance & Counseling
4. Bachelor of Education
5. Bachelor of Commerce
6. Bachelor of Banking and Insurance
7. Bachelor of International Business
8. Diploma in Electrical Engineering
9. Diploma in Power Generation Engineering
10. Diploma in Power Transmission Engineering
11. Diploma in Childhood Care & Education
12. Certificate in Computer Information Technology
13. Advanced Diploma in Computer Hardware & Network Technology
Currently these programmes are being offered by 31 Study Centres located in New Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Gujarat and Bihar.
Keeping in view that Jamia will be introducing Semester System in all its Post Graduate courses starting 2010-11, the Centre has started preparation for launching several master’s level programmes in order to cater to private candidates including women candidates and defense-forces personnel. These courses are:
1. Master of Commerce
2. MA Education / Political Science / Public Administration / Human Resource Management
3. Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking
4. B.A. (General)
5. B. Ed. Special
6. Bachelor of Business Studies
7. Bachelor of Social Work
Also to meet the requirements of +2 pass outs for whom formal education at University may not be easily accessible, the Centre will launch B.A. (General) from the session 2010-2011. The General B.A. course would include all the possible components which Jamia’s B.A. (Pass) course had. These courses will not only be available in Jamia campus but also at other places across the country.
