"Civil Services Examination is not an ordinary or routine exam. If
the candidate is successful than he will be making a major
contribution to the future of the country", Swaranjit Sen (IPS)
Chairman Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and Former
DGP said.
Swaranjit Sen was speaking today at
the inaugural function of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU)
Civil Services Examination – Coaching Academy in Hyderabad as a
Chief Guest. The function was presided over by MANUU VC Prof. Iqbal
Ahmad.
"There is no shortcut or substitute to
hardwork and focus", he added.
Recalling his experience as civil
services aspirant, he said that today though the competition is more
but the students are also having large number of “Tools” at their
expense.
He was referring to various
information sources and coaching opportunities available to the
civil services aspirants.
MANUU is one among 4 Universities
selected by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD)
all over India to start CSE – Coaching Academies.
MANUU Academy has been assigned the
responsibility to impart coaching to minorities & woman.
Swaranjit Sen praised the MANUU campus
hoping the serene ambiance would provide the students an ideal place
for preparation and learning.
"Destiny, is what you have achieved.
Each one of us is gifted by the God", he remarked before adding,
"Civil Services is not an ordinary job. It is in fact a
responsibility to be carried through and the concerned person is
accountable too."
Sen who has been a distinguished
Police Officer further said, "Policing is the greatest among
different services. Selection for IPS should not merely be on the
basis of marks one obtains. There should be such a way to ensure
proper selection of an individual for a particular job."
"Problems will not be solved over
night. Bureaucracy is supposed to find out the solution over a
period of time", he observed.
Sen expressed hope that MANUU CSE –
Coaching Academy would make a lasting impression in providing the
students an opportunity to serve the nation.
Prof. Iqbal Ahmed in his presidential
remarks said, "Today 1/3rd of Indian population is young.
This youth power shall work as a catalyst for a change, because it
is the basis for every vision."
"In the changing world the meaning of
knowledge has also undergone tremendous changes. This is an era of
“Technomic Globalization”, he said while referring to the expansion
of Technology and Economics.
Prof. Iqbal Ahmed stressed the need
for self introspection and said self realization is necessary.
"Character is the utmost important
aspect of any individual personality", he stressed.
He also wished the students and the
faculty members of the newly established Academy a bright future.
Earlier, Prof. Amina Kishore, (HoD
English & Professor I/c Academy) welcomed the gathering. Dr. Abdul
Azeem (HoD Business Management & Co-ordinator Academy) introduced
the Chief Guest. Dr. Saneem Fatima (Asst. Professor, Co-ordinator)
proposed vote of thanks. Dr. Shugufta Shaheen (Asst. Professor, Co-ordinator)
conducted the proceedings. C.M. Eshwariah Finance Officer and
Registrar I/c, Deans, Professors, Officials and the students in a
large number attended the function.
