Kuala Lumpur: Exhibitors from Malaysia and Indonesia are preparing to showcase
just about everything that goes into a wedding - be it of a Malay
family or that of an ethnic Indian.
Called the Malay-Indian Wedding Expo, it will have wedding card
printers to gift makers, bridal make-up artists, video photographers
and travel agents for the wedding merrymakers and the intending
honeymooning couples.
The man behind it, ethnic Indian Mathyvanan M.S. who is the managing
director of D'Organiser (M) Sdn Bhd, said the expo would be "the
perfect place for couples, friends and families to congregate to
plan for their big day".
"This year, more than 120 exhibitors will display their products and
services. There will be wedding planners, decorators, caterers,
wedding cake makers, wedding card printers and gifts makers, bridal
make-up artists, bridal boutiques, video and studio photographers as
well as travel agents," New Straits Times quoted Mathyvanan as
saying.
One highlight of the expo is the "Bride Me Challenge".
Make-up artists can show off their skills in the bridal make-up
competition.
The firm's business development manager Syed Mohammed Rizal Syed
Abdul Aziz said the expo offered couples-to-be plenty of options to
see and consider.
"It will be an extravagant affair as we will also entertain the
visitors with Malay and Indian traditional dances, fashion shows,
photography demonstration and more," said Syed Rizal.
The added attraction is a competition. Winners stand a chance to
attend the Bride Show 2012 in Dubai.
Multi-racial Malaysia is home to 28 million people of which 2.1
million are Indians.
