New Delhi: Passengers travelling by the Garib Rath
Express trains will have the option of getting a bedroll at an
additional charge of Rs.25 on the lines of the sleeper class of
Duronto trains, said a railway official Thursday.
The railway official said the decision was taken after the
ministry received frequent complaints about supply of used bedroll
or incomplete set of bedroll, excess charging and non-issuance of
receipt.
The passengers will be required to give the option for the
bedrolls while booking tickets on Garib Rath Express trains and
pay Rs.25 extra at the booking counter, said the official.
Similar provision will be made for passengers booking tickets
through internet, they said.
The new policy shall be implemented on a trial basis for six
months to assess the demand for bedrolls.
At present, the bedrolls are supplied to the passengers on demand
and charges collected separately.
