New Delhi:
A man, suspected to be depressed due to a Rs.40 lakh debt, and his
three family members were Saturday found dead here in their house
where a blaze was reported by neighbours, police said. A suicide
note was also recovered.
"Rajender Saxena, his wife Anita and their two children, Sayyam,
10, and Dipu, 8, were found dead at Uttam Nagar in west Delhi
after a neighbour found smoke coming out from their house," said a
police officer.
The fire department and police were informed around 5.30 a.m. A
fire tender rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
According to police, a few blood stains were seen in the house.
"It seems that Saxena killed his wife, children and put kerosene
on their bodies and on himself and burnt everyone," officer said.
Police said a suicide note was found from the terrace of the house
in which Saxena said that he borrowed Rs.40 lakh from neighbours
who were continuously threatening him and his family.
Police have booked three neighbours for abetment to suicide.
Saxena's brother-in-law told police that he received a letter
recently from him referring to his debt and the possibility of
committing suicide, police said.
