Bikaner girl, aged 13, repeatedly raped by 08 teachers over one-and-a-half years

Saturday March 25, 2017 11:52 PM, & Agencies

In a shocking revelation, a 13-year-old schoolgirl alleged that she was repeatedly raped, filmed and blackmailed by eight teachers of a private school over one-and-a-half years in Rajasthan's Bikaner district. The incident came to light after the girl fell terminally ill and her father lodged a police complaint.

"I was raped. They undressed me, and clicked my pictures", the girl said.

She also alleged that there were 7-8 people though she doesn't know everybody's name. "I even told my parents about this after a few days," she said.

The alleged incident occurred in April 2015 and the FIR was registered on Friday March 24 after the girl’s father gave a complaint to the Superintendent of Police.

“The FIR lodged under Section 376-D (gangrape) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,” Nokha police station SHO Darjaram said.

Police also said that one of the accused teachers had earlier filed a case against the girl's parents and cousins for assaulting him on March 20 this year. Both the matters are being investigated, the SHO added.

Meanwhile, speaking to news agency ANI, Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Singh Kataria said there are two cases in nokha police station. First, the school filed a case of assault on teachers, then the father of the girl filed the case against the teachers.

"In India, anyone can make allegations against anyone," he said, "We will know the facts only after the report, and then we will accordingly take action."
