Uttar Pradesh State Haj Committee Tuesday organised the Qurah/Draw of Lots to select the 29,017 lucky pilgrims who will perform Haj - the annual ritual, with more than 3.5 million Muslims from all across the World in the Holy City of Makkah and its nieghbourhood.

As per the population of Muslims in Uttar Pradesh, the Haj Committee of India has allocated the state a quota of 29,017 even though it had received 51,375 applications.

Accordingly, the UP State Haj Committee has uploaded the data of the selected Haj Pilgrims on the Central Haj Committee of India website. The pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh who had registered for this year's Haj can check if their name is in the Final List by following the steps given as under.

The Uttar Pradesh Haj Committee has also asked the pilgrims who are selected to deposit Rs.81,000/- per person as the first installment and send a copy of the bank deposit to the Haj Committee.

"The last date to deposit Rs 81,000/- is April 05, 2017 and the amount should be deposited in Haj Committee of India, State Bank of India Mumbai Account", the UP State Haj Committee officials said while talking to ummid.com.

How to Check Haj 2017 Final List:
Follow the steps given as under to check if your name is in the Final or Waiting List released by the Uttar Pradesh State Haj Committee.

  • Go to Haj Committee of India website by clicking here hajcommittee.gov.in
  • Brwose to the bottom of home page and look for the area similar to the one shown below

Haj 2017 Qurah

  • Enter your Cover No in the box. Your Cover No should start with your state code.
  • Click on the Down Arrow from 'Select State' menu and select the state as Uttar Pradesh
  • Enter Passport No in the box
  • Click on "Load" button
  • Your application status shoul appear on the computer or mobile phone screen

Districts which are covered in the final list of Uttar Pradesh are Ghaziabad,Muzaffar Nagar,Shamli , Hapur , Sambhal , Ghaziabad, Moradabad,Meerut, J.P.Nagar( Amroha), Agra, Buland Shahar, Bijnor, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Gautambudh Nagar, Baghpat, Barabanki, Lucknow , Amethi , Gonda, Pratapgarh, Basti, Shravasti, Bahraich, Balrampur, Unnao, Sultanpur, Faizabad, Kanpur Nagar, Fatehpur, Rae Bareilly, Ambedkar Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Etawah, Etah , Siddharth Nagar, Balrampur, Jhansi , Kanpur Dehat, Sitapur, Basti , Bareilly, Pilibhit, Lakhimpuri Kheri, Jalaun, Kasganj , Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Lalitpur, Banda, Badaun, Chitrakoot, Kannauj, Ballia , Varanasi , Allahabad, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Maharaj Ganj, Mau, Chandauli , Ghazipur, Kushambi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Maharaj Ganj, Deoria , Kushi Nagar, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Ghazipur, Deoria

The State Haj Committees in Kerala, Maharashtram Haryana, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir have also completed the Draw or Qurrah of Hajis. Haj pilgrims from these states can also check their status by folliwng the above steps.

The Bihar State Haj Committee also organised the Qurrah as the number of application in the state exceeded the available seats for the first time.

Maharashtra State Haj Committee organised the Computerised Qurrah/Draw of Lots to prepare the final list of pilgrims from the state who will perform Haj this year at Haj House in Mumbai at 11:00 am on Tuesday.

The Maharashtra Haj Committee based on the population of Muslims in the state has a quota of 9,780 pilgrims but it had received 57,259 applications - 47,479 more than the alotted quota.

Before the Qurah/Draw of Lots, it was decided by the Maharashtra Haj Committee to directly select the 5,270 pilgrims of above 70 years of age and those who had applied consecutively for the 5th year. Among the 5,270 Haj pilgrims who have been directly selected bypassing the Qurah, the pilgrims of above 70 years age are 3,015 whereas those who applied consecutively for the 5th year are 2,255.

Later on Qurrah/Draw of Lots was held to select the remaining 4,510 seats. The Qurrah was held only from the list of of 9,866 pilgrims who had applied for 4th consecutive year.

None of the pilgrim applying for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time were included in the Qurrah, according to the Maharashtra State Haj Committee officials.

Draw for the haj pilgrims from Jammu & Kashmir was held on Monday March 20, 2017 at Hajj House Bemina, Srinagar. After the Qurah/Draw of Lots, Jammu & Kashmir State Haj Committee released the final list of 7,960 haj pilgrims. The state had received 35,215 applications which include 25,793 applicants from general category.

The Haj Pilgrims in the states of Haryana and Rajasthan can enter their Cover No. on Central Haj Committee of India website and check their names. Click here to go to Central Haj Committee of India website.

After the Qyrah/Draw of Lots held on March 19, Kerala State Haj Committee has released the Cover No. of 11,197 Haj Pilgrims. Kerala had received the maximum number of applications i.e. 95,238.

Overall, 31 states in India have received a total of 4,48,268 applications for the total seats of 1,23,700. This means 3,24,568 applicants will not get the chance to perform haj.

The final list of 1,23,700 haj pilgrims out of the total 4,48,268 applicants will be released after Qurah/Draw of Lots which has been either completed in some states or is underway in some.
