Akbaruddin Owaisi hospitalised after "severe" stomach pain

Hyderabad: Akabaruddin Owaisi, senior AIMIM leader and younger brother of Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, has been hospitalised after "severe" stomach pain, party sources said.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) sources said Akbadruddin Owaisi was admitted to Owaisi Hospital in Hyderabad Thursday night where a team of senior doctors is monitoring his health.

Akbaruddin Owaisi is complaining of stomach pain ever since April 2011 when he was critically injured after being shot at while he was travelling in a Gypsy jeep for a rally near Barkas through his Chandranarayangutta constituency in the old city. The assailants had fired four rounds and had also attacked the MIM leader with swords.

After emergency treatment in India, Akabrauddin Owaisi was also shifted to London. However, ever since then he had lost considerable amount of weight and his health has deteriorated.

Akbaruddin Owaisi, AIMIM floor leader in Telanagana assembly, has won consecutively for the 5th time from Chandranarayangutta constituency in the recently held 2018 state elections.

Meanwhile, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has rushed to Hyderabad from New Delhi. Asaduddin Owaisi was in Delhi to attend the ongoing winter session of the Parliament. From the airport, he immedicately went to Owaisi Hospital to enquire about the health condition of his younger brother.

According to local media reports, a large number of AIMIM workers have also gathered outside the Owaisi Hospital after reports that Akbaruddin Owaisi is admiitted in the hospital.
