FYJC 2018

FYJC Admission 2018: The School Education & Sports Department, Govt of Maharashtra on Friday issued fresh warning to students and their parents, and asked them not to take admission in "Integrated Junior Colleges".

"Parents & Students are requested not to take admission in so called integrated Jr. College in Mumbai region. If they take admission in such colleges the department will not be responsible for any problem occurring in future", a warning posted on the School Education & Sports Department, Govt of Maharashtra official website launched for First Year Junior College (FYJC) Admission 2018 said.

In a decision taken in July 2017, the Government of Maharashtra banned "Integrated Junior Colleges".

The 'Integrated Junior College' are actually the coaching centres that prepare students for JEE, NEET, MHT-CET and other competitive exams simultaneously with 11th and 12th subjects. While enrolling the students in return of hefty fees, the coaching centres also assure students not to bother about attendance. The Maharashtra government however banned such Integrated Junior Colleges from this year.

“The State Education Department noticed that some students with high scores in Class X had sought admission to ordinary colleges. As we dug further, the department came to know that these students had enrolled in colleges instituted by private coaching classes. The coaching classes charge the students exorbitant fees. Hence, we have decided to close them down.”

Tawde also said that it will be mandatory from this year to attend lectures in colleges and attendance will be marked with bio-metric system

"The State would introduce measures like biometric attendance for students and an attendance audit, and mandatory attendance in government-run or aided colleges from the next academic year (2018-19)", Tawde said.

Meanwhile, the filling of Part 2 Option Form for FYJC 2018 in six cities including Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nashik and Amravati is underway. Students are required to fill FYJC Admission 2018 Part 2 Option Form before June 18.

The School Education & Sports Department, Govt of Maharashtra has also uploaded on the 11th admission website revised college details and last year 3rd Round Cut-off. Students need to click on "Search By College" or "College Information" to view college details and last year 3rd Round Cut-off.

Detailed FYJC Admission 2018 schedule in English and Marathi languages are also available for download on all the six websites launched for FYJC Admission in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nashik and Amravati.

Students participating in FYJC 2018 Admission Process should note that there will be four Merit Lists. All the Merit Lists will be declared on the basis of the merit, category and the order of preferences of the applicant.

"After the First Round for every next round students will be allowed to change their junior college preferences order or stream according to availability of seats, within the stipulated time given for each round. If any student does not change preferences then preferences given for earlier round will be considered", the Information Booklet says.

"Allocation of each round will be as per merit, category and preferences. All the applications received, shall be considered for online admission process according to the merit category and the order of preferences given by the applicants", it reiterates.
