B.Arch student of Jamia Millia bags 1st prize at Gen-Z Leadership Olympiad 2018

New Delhi: Maryam Siddiqui, first year B.Arch student of Jamia Millia Islamia, bagged the 1st prize at Gen-Z Leadership Olympiad 2018, Jamia Millia Islamia said in a statement.

"Just 19 years old, Maryam was the junior-most participant in the competition, where the average age of the participants was 24 years. She competed as a single person against teams of upto 3 people and won the first prize beating 461 teams from all over India", the Jamia said in the statement.

Gen-Z Leadership Olympiad is a pan India contest to identify the leaders of tomorrow. In the first step of the multi-stage competition, the contestants were needed to submit a 3-minute (+-20 Seconds) Vlog (Video blog) on any one of the pre-decided five themes.

The themes were: What would be 5 themes around which the 2019 Lok Sabha elections will be contested? With increasing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI), will robots render humans useless? Moral Policing: An attempt to preserve culture or a gang of hooligans?, Sci-Fi ideas that you think will become reality in next 3 years and Indian Cricket: A role model for other sports in India or the biggest cannibalize?

The second stage of the contest had three rounds. Round 1 was about Public Speaking, Round 2 was about Experiential Learning and Round 3 was Case Study Analysis.

Maryam Siddiqui successfully contested all stages of the competition and won the 1st prize which included Rs.65,000 in cash and citation. The 2nd prize of Rs 45,000 went to Srishti Gupta and 3rd prize of Rs 25,000 went to Prabal Gupta and Bhavya Narula.

The competition was organized by Career2NextOrbit.com and Axis Bank. The Grand Finale was held on March 24 at Pride Plaza Hotel in New Delhi.
