New Delhi: Thousands of people Sunday joined the women protesting against CAA-NRC-NPR since last 40 days to celebrate the 71st Republic Day of India and witness the hoisting ceremony of the Indian Tricolour at Shaheen Bagh in New Delhi.
The crowd at the venue turned emotional as the Dadis of Saheen Bagh hoisted the Indian Tricolour together with the mothers of Rohith Vemula and Junaid.
The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by recitation of the national anthem in unison as they observed India's 71st Republic Day.

The preparations for the celebrations had begun at least two days earlier, with volunteers sharing messages inviting people to reach the protest site and aim for a headcount of at least ten lakh people, and in the process to create a sort of world record.
While the number of headcount can be debated, there is no doubt that the people gathered at Shaheen Bagh in solidarity with the women protesting against CAA-NRC-NPR gave a fitting reply to the forces projecting them anti-nationals.
