India stands among world's most corrupt nations

New Delhi: An inspector of Delhi’s anti-corruption branch (ACB) was arrested here Wednesday for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.100,000 from a complainant, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said.

Dilip Kaushik was arrested after a team of CBI officials raided the ACB office in Old Secretariat building. He was caught while accepting the bribe.

He will be presented before a city court Thursday.

“Kaushik was investigating a disproportionate assets case against Delhi Police inspector Roshan Lal and others. He demanded a bribe of Rs.100,000 from the complainant for showing undue favour in the investigation,” a CBI spokesman said here.

Searches are being conducted at Kaushik’s office and house.
