Rafat Habib, Nadeem Ahmed for World Masters

Bangalore: Rafat Habib,
the former India No.2, and Nadeem Ahmed, both from Tamil Nadu,
qualified to represent India in the IBSF World Masters snooker
championship to be held at Sofia, Bulgaria, from Nov 24 to Dec 2.
Habib and Ahmed made it to the selection tournament final by
virtue of which they booked their berths in the Masters
tournament.
In the final played Sunday, Habib, the 2002 Asian
Games doubles gold medal winner, defeated Ahmed 80-36, 68-04,
57-60, 65-29.
In the semi-finals, Habib defeated L. Nagaraj 3-0 and Ahmed
overcame Surendran S. also 3-0. The play-off for third and fourth
places saw Nagaraj beating Surendran 3-1.
