Mumbai: Days after over 500 lawyers protested on the same matter, about 03 dozen people Thursday protested at Gateway of India in Mumbai demanding fresh probe in Justice B.H. Loya death case.

Wearing T-shirts with "Who Killed Judge Loya?" written on them the protesters also held a banner with the image of Mahatma Gandhi and 'Satyamev Jayate' written on it.

"Justice Loya died under suspicious circumstances. Our demand is that the death case must be properly investigated and the government should file a case. A court trial should be held," one of protesters is quoted as saying by PTI..

"After the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government of NCP-Shiv Sena and Congress came to power, our hopes about a fresh probe into the case have brightened," he said.

Justice Loya died on December 01, 2014 reportedly due to cardiac arrest while he was in Nagpur to attend the wedding of a colleague's daughter. However, his family has maintained that there was a conspiracy behind his death.

Earlier, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Digvijay Singh had also asked for reopening of the Justice Loya death case.

On Monday, more than 500 lawyers had protested and signed a petition against the sudden transfer of Justice Zaka Azizul Haq to Aurangabad.

The lawyers said, Justice Zaka Azizul Haq had ordered the authorities to protect all documents and records related to the death of Justice Loya in their original forms, according to a TOI report.
