scientist Baldev Raj to head engineering academy

Chennai: Baldev Raj,
nuclear scientist and director of the Indira Gandhi Centre for
Atomic Research at Kalpakkam near here, has been elected the
president of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) for
a two-year term.
The INAE is a peer organisation of engineers, scientists and
technologists and promotes excellence in engineering and
technology by mentoring students, teachers and young engineers.
The academy provides opinion on policy matters related to higher
education, energy, heritage and industry. It will complete its 25
years next April.
