New Delhi: In probably the first ever case involving sex, scotch and a bureaucrat, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday ordered an inquiry against a 2010 cadre IAS Officer after photographs showing him in an objectionable position with two women went viral on social media.
Niraj Kumar, a 2010 batch IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre appears to be in an inebriated state and lying on a bed with two young women, while a third person who can't be identified is the one who has taken the pictures, according to The Kashmir Monitor.
In the pictures widely shared on social media, Kumar is shown lying in bed with two girls - one top of him and the other lying by his side.
In the other picture, Kumar is seen sleeping with both the girls lying by his sides. In yet another picture Kumar is awake and aware that he is being filmed while a girl can be seen running her fingers through his hair.
The incident was a huge embarrassment for Jammu and Kashmir government and the state chief secretary BB Viyas on Friday immediately ordered his removal from the post and ordered inquiry into the incident, an official spokesperson said.
Soon after the pictures were circulated on various WhatsApp groups and uploaded on different social networking sites, the Jammu and Kashmir government swung into action and attached the IAS officer with the office of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, pending enquiry.
