Modi Got Talk to Shaheen Bagh Protesters

New Delhi: Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday said the Central government is ready to talk to Shaheen Bagh protesters -- mainly women camping at Kalindi Kunj - Shaheen Bagh stretch against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and the proposed National Register of Citizens (NRC).

This is the first time a high ranking minister has reached out to the protesters camping at Shaheen Bagh in chilling cold.

"Government is ready to talk to protesters of Shaheen Bagh but then it should be in a "structured form" and the Narendra Modi government is ready to communicate with them and clear all their doubts they have against CAA," the Minister tweeted.

Prasad however did not elaborate what he meant by "structured form".

Shaheen Bagh has been the site of anti-CAA and NRC protest where primarily women and children have been camping since December 15.

Protest at Shaheen Bagh intensified after police crackdown on the students of Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) peacefully protesting against CAA and NRC.

Later on protest spread to many parts of India and as of now Shaheen Bagh protests are being hel in as many as 50 places.
