Mumbai: "Like United States in the world, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is responsible for Terrorism in India. The communal agenda of the BJP and its anti-National policies are providing fodder to the separatist activities and are responsible for the growing terrorism in the country", Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Supremo Sharad Pawar said.

 

"Terrorism finds its root in the communal agenda and injustice meted to others. If we really wish to eliminate terrorism from India, it is high time we refrain the parties like BJP from playing the divisive politics", Pawar has been quoted as saying by Inuqilaab, a Mumbai based Urdu Daily in its April, 2 issue.

 

Pawar while speaking with the Urdu Daily also came down heavily on BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani. In reply to a question Pawar said, “It will be really bad if a person like Advani becomes Prime Minister of the country.” Accusing Advani of blatant double standard, Pawar said, “Not only the country, his own party BJP would not be safe under his leadership.”

 

Commenting on the arrest of the terrorists belonging to Abhinav Bharat and other Hindu terrorists, Pawar said, “When the terrorists attacked Makkah Masjid mosque in Hyderabad, Malegaon, Purna, Nanded and Perbhani we doubted at that time only that this could not be a handiwork of any Muslim. Our doubts became a reality when Mumbai Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) unveiled the hitherto hidden face of the terrorism and arrested many Hindu terrorists belong to Abhinav Bharat and other organizations.”  

 

Few days back while addressing a joint election rally with Indian National Congress and Republican Party of India (RPI) in Mumbai Sharad Pawar had accused Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of directly being involved in several blasts across the country. “Prior to Malegaon blasts when only Muslims were the suspected accused, after every attack, I would think how a Muslim dared plant bombs in his worship places. Later a deeper investigation found the RSS outfits to be behind Parbhani, Ajmer, Malegaon and other blasts,’ Pawar had reportedly said while addressing the rally.
