Israeli wants to name himself after 10 British kings

Tuesday May 24, 2011 09:06:07 AM, IANS

Jerusalem: Israel's Population and Immigration Authority has received an odd request from a man who asked to change his name to those of 10 British kings who he admired.

The names chosen by the unnamed man are - Henry, William, Phillip, Charles, Frederick, Michael, Louis, George, Edward, and Robert.

The man said he wanted to change his name in honour of the royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine. The wedding inspired and moved him, Xinhua reported citing local news service Ynet.

Officials said this was the most odd name change request they have ever received.

"We receive many requests annually and we only reject those that might be offensive to the public," a official statement read.
