Mumbai's Inaaya to represent Maharashtra at Kick-Boxing Championship in Kolkata

Mumbai: Inaaya Multani - 09-year-old girl from the closely-knit small Zalawadi Ghanchi Muslim community, has been selected to represent Maharashtra at the first-ever national level Pro-Fight in Cage, more popularly known as MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), to be organised in Kolkata. The title clash would be on 23 November.

The Zalawadi Ganchi Muslim community has just 200 families in Mumbai and comprises of businessmen, doctors, engineers and advocates.

Inaaya Multani is a student of Alexandra Girls' School, Mumbai and studies in Standard IV. She had in the past won several state and national level awards in Martial Arts.

"I will give my best, and try and live up to the expectations of my parents, instructors, family and community," Inaaya said.

"We are proud of her. She is a winner. She is an inspiration," said Farrah Y Gustaspi, the principal of the Alexandra Girls' institution.

"We have already started preparations for the big event and would leave for Kolkata soon," said Imran Multani, her father.

At the age of 7, Inaaya had started her training with Khush Jodo and MMA Academy under Kushnoor Jijina. After one year of trainingmshe joined Fit N Fight under coach Alam Idrisi.

Idrisi thinks Inaaya has lots of aggressions and she is fearless as she is the best in his knowledge to represent Maharashtra at Kokatta pro-fight championship.

"There are many students from my centre who performed internationally in FC MMA fights and Kick Boxing and I hope one day Inaaya Multani will represent India in international sports", Idrisi said.

Inaaya, a fluent in Marathi language, wants to be an IPS officer from the state. She said that in future she wanted to give free training to girls so that they are able to tackle road romeos .

She also said that in today's time incident of molestation is increasing day by day. Hence girls and woman should know how to defend in such situations.

"Every girl must learn Marshal Arts which is very easy and a small time training will enable them to handle such type of elements", she said.
