According to the board website, Mumbai division's passing percentage is 89.52% whereas Pune Division is close at 89.23% and Amravati is third at 89.06%. Overall percentage of the Maharashtra SSC board is 83.26%.
Nasik division that has topped the HSC exams, announced earlier this year, scored a passing percentage of 87.99. Latur Division is the lowest with 46.70%.
SSC exams for the eight divisions in Maharashtra were held in March this year. A total of 1203463 students out of 1439180 students appeared have passed the SSC Board Exams held in March 2010.
Interestingly, like in HSC Exams, girl students are ahead of boys in the SSC Exams as well. They outshine the boys in all the eight divisions.
The results are now shown on Internet and mobile via SMS.
The mark sheets would be given to students later.
The results are available here: http://mahresult.nic.in/ssc2010/ssc10.htm
This is the first time, the Maharashtra Board has calculated students' result on the basis of 'Best of 5' criteria. However, the Bombay High Court has asked Maharashtra not to start the admission process for Class 11 under this formula without its permission. The Board has given the state education board time till June 18 to file its reply.
