New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will hold UGC NET July 2018 as per the revised and new scheme, and the Information Bulletin of the same has been released online and it is avaliable on the CBSE UGC NET website.
Candidates who want to apply for CBSE UGC NET July 2018 should apply from March 05. Last date to apply is April 05, 2018, and last date to pay the fees is April 06, 2018, the CBSE UGC NET 2018 Information Bulletin said.
"It is notified that CBSE will conduct the next UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor on 08th July, 2018 (Sunday) as per the revised scheme", the CBSE said in an officiation notification.
As per the revised scheme, the test will consist of two papers as below:.
"Paper-I shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate.
"It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate", the CBSE said.
"Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate", it said.
CBSE UGC NET 2018 Age Limit
- Junior Research Fellowship: Not more than 30 years as on 01.07.2018. A relaxation up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC (Non- creamy layer, as per the Central list of OBC available on website: www.ncbc.nic.in ) SC/ST/PwD/Transgender categories and to women applicants. Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates having research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant/related subject of post graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on production of a certificate from appropriate authority. Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates possessing L.L.M. Degree. A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces up to the first day of the month in which the concerned UGC-NET is to be held. Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.
- Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying for eligibility for
Assistant Professor.
The CBSE conducts UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) two times in a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for the posts Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
Candidates who qualify for the JRF are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible to apply for the post of an assistant professor in Indian universities and colleges.
The award of JRF and eligibility for assistant professor’s post depends on the performance of the candidate in all the three papers of NET. However, candidates qualifying exclusively for an assistant professor are not considered for JRF.
Candidates cracking the CBSE UGC NET are eligible for various Post Graduation level courses including M.Phil and Ph.D being run by more than 740 universities and institutions in the country.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the UGC NET 2017 on Sunday January 22 in 84 subjects in 90 cities across India. UGC NET November 2017 was conducted on Sunday November 05, 2017.
